Church Representatives Attend Celebration of the 62th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China

A group of eleven persons attended the conference organized by the religious sectors of Hong Kong to celebrate the 62th anniversary of the National Day of the People Republic of China in the evening of 22 September 2011.

Apostles in Hong KOng

Church History Meeting

Brother Richard E. Turley Jr. (Assistant Historian) and Brother Reid L. Neilson (Managing Director-History Dept) Came to Hong Kong on 15th April. They visited Kam Tong Hall and the peak where dedication took place in 1947.
They met with missionaries in the afternoon and members in the evening to explain the current efforts of the church history department.
Brother Neilson stressed the importance of keeping records.

New Temple President and Matron
President and Sister Aki succeeded President and Sister Goo as the Temple President and Matron in November 2010.
After their completion of three years service, President Charles W. H. Goo and Sister Goo have left Hong Kong and returned to Hawaii. On their departure they expressed gratitude and encouragement to the Church members in Hong Kong. (President Goo’s letter)
Their selfless service and love will be appreciated and remembered forever.
President Aki and Sister Aki are old friends to the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hong Kong. President Aki served as President of the China Hong Kong Mission. At that time, Sister Aki also served in the Mission Office. After that, the couple served in Hong Kong again as a missionary couple. (‘Our Decision to Serve as Senior Missionaries’)

A Special Meeting with President Uchtdorf "You are laying the foundation for future generations"

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, second counselor in the First Presidency and his wife, Sister Harriett Uchtdorf, together with their two grandsons who have just completed their missions in Taipei and Taichung, visited Hong Kong in mid-July and held a Special Meeting on 18th July evening at the 1st Floor of Wanchai Chapel.
