We Are Imperfect But We Keep Trying

Elder Nicholas Kieren
China, Hong Kong Mission

As I have gone finding (looking for people who may become interested in the Church) in my mission, I have realized how important it is to help our brothers and sisters understand that we are all imperfect; but that we can overcome our flaws and find great happiness as we follow God’s plan.

I have never met people of other faiths that have agreed that our church is the only true church.  However, everyone that I have met has ALWAYS agreed that we live in an imperfect world and that we can all improve ourselves.  As we find common ground with those who have expressed an interest in our message, we can then bear simple testimony that God has given us a perfect plan that will overcome our imperfections.

We can also introduce them to the Book of Mormon at this time, showing them that it is evidence of God’s love for us.  It helps them to receive guidance and answers to daily problems and will even help them to receive answers about the truth in the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

After you do this, promise them blessings and miracles, because they WILL come.

Invite all of your friends, young and old, to activities.  Then, as they see members living by Gospel standards and having fun, the Gospel will blossom in their lives as well.
