Humanitarian Aid for Natural Disasters of Japan
In a news conference, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said, " the Church concerns for the people of Japan and has committed substantial financial aid to Japan."

Asia Area Presidency thus recommends a contribution to the humanitarian fund as an aid for the natural disasters and to pray for our brothers and sisters in Japan.

Church in Talks to "Regularize" Activities in China
SALT LAKE CITY |30 August 2010| A series of high-level meetings between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and an official from the People's Republic of China is expected to lead to "regularized" operations for the Church in China.

A statement from the First Presidency of the Church disclosed today that a senior representative of the People's Republic of China – the highest ranking representative from Beijing to meet with Church leaders – has visited with the First Presidency.

Members in Asia receive new tools with enthusiasm

Church members throughout Asia whose native language is Chinese have received the news of the availability of the Chinese language triple combination of the scriptures online with great excitement and anticipation. Even though it was announced only a few weeks ago, they are beginning in earnest to utilize it in both daily scripture study and to prepare talks and lessons, according to Church leaders in the Church's Asia Area.
