Uchtdorf, second counselor in the First Presidency and his wife, Sister Harriett Uchtdorf, together with their two grandsons who have just completed their missions in Taipei and Taichung, visited Hong Kong in mid-July and held a Special Meeting on 18th July evening at the 1st Floor of Wanchai Chapel.

A New Meeting House in Kowloon Tong

The Church now holds among its properties the Hong Kong China Temple at Cornwall Street, Kowloon Tong, which has won the "In Recognition of Merits Architecture" award, and the well-known 14 storey red brick Church Administration Building located next to Wanchai Police Station on Gloucester Road. Carrying on the tradition of high-quality classical-style architecture, the Church will soon complete a meeting house with its own classical characteristics at Dorset Crescent, Kowloon Tong.

A Brand New year 2010

Thanksgiving Service

Bright and early on Nov. 26, the 129 elders and sisters of the China Hong Kong Mission met in the Wai Tau Tsuen village, in the New Territories area of Hong Kong. They were there to provide a labor of love to the elderly farmers and residents of this remote area by spending the entire morning working on the land.

Church in Talks to "Regularize"
Activities in China

SALT LAKE CITY |30 August 2010|  A series of high-level meetings between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and an official from the People's Republic of China is expected to lead to "regularized" operations for the Church in China.

A statement from the First Presidency of the Church disclosed today that a senior representative of the People's Republic of China – the highest ranking representative from Beijing to meet with Church leaders – has visited with the First Presidency.

Members in Asia receive new tools with enthusiasm

Church members throughout Asia whose native language is Chinese have received the news of the availability of the Chinese language triple combination of the scriptures online with great excitement and anticipation. Even though it was announced only a few weeks ago, they are beginning in earnest to utilize it in both daily scripture study and to prepare talks and lessons, according to Church leaders in the Church's Asia Area.

relieve flood victims

October annually brings typhoons and other severe storms to South Asia, and this year was no exception. The worst flooding in several decades devastated southern India during October, hitting the provinces of Karnakata and Andhra Pradesh particularly hard. More than 200 people were reported dead, and more than a million local residents had to take temporary refuge in state-run shelters and relief camps.

Growth of the Church in India

Growth of the Church in southern India was indicated by the formation of three new districts in the India Bangalore Mission on Sunday, Oct. 11. They bring to five the total number of India districts in the Mormon mission, which also has a district on the island nation of Sri Lanka.
